You know that when you were heathen , you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.

Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers).

They will say No, you were the ones who would not believe.

In fact, you were a people rebellious.

They will answer, You yourselves did not have faith!

Those say, 'No on the contrary, you were not believers

They will say nay! ye yourselves were not believers.

They will reply Nay, you yourselves were not believers.

They will say, You yourselves were not believers.

You yourselves were rebellious people.

They will say Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe.

You were a rebellious people,

They answer Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers.

They will answer, No, you yourselves had no faith.

No, you yourselves were a rebellious lot.

But they reply 'Rather, you were not believers.

The oppressors will say, Rather, you yourselves were not believers,

Others will respond, It was you who did not want to have any faith.

They shall say Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers

They will say, No! It was you who would not believe

They will reply Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith!

Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion!

and God most surely helped you at Badr, when you were utterly abject.

So you were aforetime but God has been gracious to you.

And assuredly Allah had succoured you at Badr While ye were humble.

Even Thus were ye aforetime, then Allah favoured you.

And Allah has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force.

And remember when you were but few, and He multiplied you.

God had given you victory at Badr, when you were weak.

You yourselves were like this before, and God bestowed favor on you so investigate.

And remember how you were few, and how He made you numerous.

For sure Allah helped you at Badr when you were utterly weak.

After all, you too were such before, and then Allah was gracious to you.

Allah had already given you the victory at Badr, when ye were contemptible.

Even thus (as he now is) were ye before but Allah hath since then been gracious unto you.

And remember, when ye were but few, how He did multiply you.

Certainly Allah helped you at Badr, when you were weak in the enemy s eyes .

You too were such earlier, but Allah did you a favour.

And Allah most assuredly helped you at Badr when you were humiliated.

Therefore let it be clarified.

Remember how He multiplied you when you were few in number.

You yourselves were like that before then Allah conferred His favor upon you, so investigate.

And remember when you were few and He increased you.

Before, you were also like them, but God bestowed His favors upon you.
