Land, water, and the future of the countryside

And it was said, 'Earth, swallow thy waters and, heaven, abate!'

And it was said O earth! swallow up thy water, and cease, O heaven!

And it was said O earth! Swallow up your water, and O sky!

And it was said, O earth, swallow your waters, and O heaven, clear up.

And the command was given 'Earth! Swallow up your water' and 'Heaven!

He turns a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into water springs.

He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

Seals are clumsy and awkward on land, but very graceful in the water.

And We opened up the springs of the earth and the waters met for a decreed end.

And caused springs to gush out from the earth, so that the two waters met totalling a quantity that had been destined.

See you not that Allah sends down water (rain) from the sky, and then the earth becomes green?

Do you not see that God sends down water from the sky, and the land becomes green?

Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the sky whereby the earth turns green?
