He got off because of the statute of limitations.

And know that Allah knows what is in your minds, so fear Him.

And do not confirm the marriage tie until the writing is fulfilled.

And you should not settle anything finally about the marriage until the waiting term expires.

And do not consummate the marriage until (the term) prescribed is run.

And do not resolve on the knot of marriage until the writing has reached its term.

And do not determine to undertake a marriage contract until the decreed period reaches its end.

Do not decide for a marriage before the appointed time is over.

Do not proceed with tying the marriage knot before the end of their waiting period.

Have they other associates who have prescribed another law for them which has not been dispensed by God?

Or do they have associate deities who have appointed for them a religion, which Allah has not permitted?

Or have they associates who have laid down for them as religion that for which God gave not leave?

Have they associate gods who have instituted for them a religion which Allah hath not allowed?

Or have they partners with Allah (false gods), who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed.

Or is it that they have partners who litigate for them religious laws never authorized by God?

Do they have any associates (of Allah) who have laid down for them a way pertaining to faith which Allah did not sanction?

Or have they partners (of Allah) who have made lawful for them in religion that which Allah allowed not?

Do they have deities besides Allah who have ordained for them a religion not permitted by Allah?

Or do they have associates who have made lawful to them in religion what Allah has not permitted?

Or have they other deities who have ordained for them a religion to which Allah has not consented?

Do they have idols who have established a religion without the permission of God?

Or have they associates who have prescribed for them any religion that Allah does not sanction?

Do they have associate gods who have laid down for them a religion without the permission of God?

What! have they partners (in godhead), who have established for them some religion without the permission of Allah?

Surely God has sanctioned the dissolution of your vows.

Prescribed for you is fighting, though it be hateful to you.

God has ordained for you the absolution of your oaths.

Prescribed unto you is fighting, albeit it is abhorrent unto you.

Allah has already ordained for you (O men), the dissolution of your oaths.

Fighting is ordained for you, even though you dislike it.

God has decreed for you the dissolution of your oaths.

Allah has prescribed for you a way for the absolution of your oaths.

Warfare has been prescribed for you, though it is repulsive to you.

(Offensive) fighting is obligatory for you, though it is hateful to you.

Allah has absolved you from your oaths.

Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you.

Allah has already ordained for you Muslims the dissolution of your oaths.

Fighting is made mandatory for you, but you dislike it.

God has shown you how to absolve yourselves of your oaths.

Fighting in defence is ordained for you, abhorrent as it may be to you.

God has already ordained that you be absolved of such oaths.

Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it.

Say 'It is God's. He has prescribed for Himself mercy.

Say thou Allah's. He hath prescribed mercy for Himself.

Say To Allah. He has prescribed Mercy for Himself.
