These amendments are aimed to introduce into this directive the content of the block directive on accompanying measures.

Last of all there are amendments Nos 3 and 10 on the date the directive enters into force.

I believe that the European Community's approach to the united Germany can succeed.

Furthermore, we still favour the earliest possible ban on discharging sludge into the sea, and we hope that the Commission will soon initiale a study on the Community wide environmental effects of the alternatives to discharging sludge and outfalls along the coast.

We cannot vote for this proposal for a directive in its amended form.

I was most amused to read in point 3 of the opinion of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Citizens' Rights that the detrimental effects on competition policy

It seems possible to avoid the delay , which would arise if a separate Directive were to be prepared by making various amendments to the draft Directive in order to cover securities settlement systems .

Any references to the repealed Directive shall be construed as references to this Directive .

That is why I do not think it is appropriate to include Amendments Nos 32, 74 and 110 in this directive.

The second pillar is strict parallelism between monetary union and economic union. This is important to the Commission.

Amendments Nos 21, 25, 73 and 124 to 126 do not clarify adequately the inter relationship between this directive and Directive 90 220 EEC, concerning the deliberate release of genetically modified organisms, and would lead to confusion, even though the idea is contained in Amendments Nos 124, and part of 126 which are very much along the lines of the Commission's thinking.

But economic union has to be the other side of the coin. Not just for reasons of economic balance, but in addition for political reasons that have to do whith the democratic deficit.

Allow me to say that it is an exagération to say that Article 100a can be applied to all circumstances which do not refer exclusively to the interests and rights of workers.

We are indeed evolving towards a sort of superstate with a supereconomy and a super army.

But this increasing of Parliament's powers must not yield to the temptation to question the general characteristics of the institutional triangle.

Major measures in this respect included the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive ( MiFID ) , the Transparency Directive , the Market Abuse Directive , and the Prospectus Directive 12 . Building on the achievements under the FSAP , in December 2005 the Commission adopted a White Paper on EU financial services policy for the years 2005 10 .

As this directive will modify the Framework Directive on type approval, it would be preferable to indicate clearly that the reference is to the Framework Directive on type approval 70 156 EEC, as modified by Directive XXXX XX CE .
